“!Now Ya Know”is a weekly series from Mixologi profiling artists you may not have heard of.  Every week we will be selecting a new artist for you to keep on your radar.

My idea of a good piece of art is something that will scare the shit out of me.  Literally, I want to look at a canvas and be like, who ever made this is a sick bastard.  One of arts’ countless purposes is to take you to places you would never want to go, introduce you characters that would chop your head off, and bring to life creatures that would be much better off dead.  But dark, grimy, and gory isn’t enough on its own to really freak me out. There is a very subtle equation to successfully pull off eerie, and I think Tim Lane has that formula down.  I’d best describe his work as a mix between Dr. Seuss and Nightmare on Elm Street.
